White Plains, MD -- (SBWire) -- 08/22/2014 --While its theory constantly appears in scripture, The Rapture rarely makes it into fiction. However, as an author unafraid to tackle the big-picture issues, Gerald C. Anderson, Sr. fuses this massive event with a bold exploration of faith in his new novel, ‘27Hours: What Would You Do If You Faced The End?’.
An asteroid is on a collision cause with Earth and humanity’s extinction is just over a day away. This leaves Christians with a painful decision: to stay true to their faith or ignore their values and indulge in the immorality that is sweeping the planet?
Synopsis
In just over a day, Earth will be destroyed! Sex, drugs and alcohol dominate the last hours. Christians turn against God. Bishop Carroll announces to the world that the Bible is nothing but a book of fairy tales for children. But what is the Bishop hiding? Why is he willing to kill over it? Follow the story as the main characters struggle with their faith. Some will chose to follow the Bishop and enter “The Peachtree Zone” while others fight to stick to their beliefs. What would you do ... give into the world or stick to your faith?
“Ultimately, I want readers to ask themselves how they would spend their last twenty-seven hours,” explains Anderson. “Would they enter Bishop Carroll’s ‘Peachtree Zone’ where the sex, drugs and alcohol are free? Or, would they pick up their Bible and fight to stick to everything they believe in? Is the substance of things hoped for stronger than the impending doom facing the world? It’s a very personal question and my narrative will help any Christian work out where they stand.”
Continuing, “As with any good work of fiction, there’s a twist; readers eventually discover that Bishop Carroll is hiding secrets, ones that many are committed to exposing before the asteroid strikes. This element of the story makes it a great fusion of fact and fiction. Not only will readers be left with plenty to think about, but they can enjoy a page-gripping adventure along the way.”
Since its release, the book has garnered rave reviews. For example, Kimberly comments, “I found myself not wanting to put it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The ending caught me totally off guard. The best part of this book was how personal the author made it by sharing his experiences in the Bible study at the end.”
Sharon Finney adds, “I have read the e-book and now it's available in print. Seeing how this project has grown makes me very proud of my brother in Christ. This book is a great read, one that should cause us all to really think! I'm sure I will read it again. Congratulations Gerald!”
