Kabul, Afghanistan -- (SBWire) -- 01/06/2014 --In April 2014 YOGA AFCECO will be visiting voluntarily and free of charge an AFCECO Orphanage in Afghanistan to develop a yoga project for the children living in their orphanages. Due to their meager living conditions and the Afghan war situation, these children are suffering diverse repercussions in the forms of stress and tension disorders including low self-esteem, a fear of socializing and depression as well as problems sleeping and an array of physical pains such as headaches.
When these orphans learn the Yoga exercises YOGA AFCECO will teach them, these children can develop emotional resiliency, improve their mental and physical well-being and reduce their tension and stress disorders giving them the tools they need to succeed in a challenging environment.
The AFCECO orphanage operates by providing their kids a truly democratic and happy environment where they can get education which is the key aspect for their development. Their results are really inspirational: 100% of their orphans go to school, 100% of university age attend university and 100% of working age work for AFCECO which allows them to give back and pay it forward to help others.
NATO troops are leaving Afghanistan in 2014, so the interest in the Northern Countries will decrease which will inevitably lead to a decrease of their funding for humanitarian causes among many other categories. Unfortunately the situation of the Afghan people still remains harsh. Since AFCECO thought they could bring more than yoga to the orphanage that is kindly receiving them, AFCECO is trying their hardest to return this kindness through a crowdfunding campaign to be able to cover one trimester of expenses in the AFCECO orphanage in Kabul.
About AFCECO: The Afghan Child Education and Care Organization
AFCECO is a non-profit organization founded by Andeisha Farid, an Afghan native who had grown up in war and displacement and whose dream was to come up with an innovative way to help vulnerable Afghan children. She knows that half of the Afghan population is under eighteen years old so they are the future of the country. Nowadays AFCECO runs 11 orphanages for Afghan people. The proceeds of this crowdfunding project will allow them to work with one of their orphanages in Kabul which has 180 kids.
