North Hollywood, CA -- (SBWire) -- 11/26/2014 --What if learning science was as accessible as a mobile phone and as easy to operate? With Biotic, it can be. Biotic is an iOS app that uses touch and gestures to have students conduct biological processes like mitosis, meiosis, and the Krebs cycle and a California educational development team has launched a Kickstarter campaign to take the app from development to production.
The goal of this campaign is to raise money to hire programmers and artists to bring the concept to reality for hands-on learning inside or outside of the classroom. Biotic features a built in adjustable teaching guide so that students learn more, are challenged more gaining the knowledge they need to know using an intuitive touch interface that is already familiar. In fact, realistic digital models coupled with the intuitive interface makes learning science feel like playing a game.
While Biotic is able to grow and expand over time, currently it offers students the chance to learn Mitosis, Meiosis, RNA Transcription and Translation, Membrane Transport with Diffusion, Facilitated Diffusion, or Active Transport, Cell-to-Cell Signaling (not to be confused with cellular phones), Cellular Respiration
Angel investors helping fund the Biotic Biology campaign to the next level will be eligible for perks such as thank yous, free app downloads, t-shirts, executive producer credits and much, much more.
The team also understands not everyone may be able to give money to help the Biotic Biology project, so they ask that those who cannot give monetarily help by spreading the word about the Biotic Biology Project online through social media such as Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr or record a video challenge for Vine, Facebook or Instagram to invite friends to give to or share this Kickstarter fundraiser. Include #Biotic in all posts.
