Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 06/17/2019 --John DeBella, the iconic morning show host of Classic Rock 102.9 WMGK, will again host the Annual Veterans Radiothon. Gary Barbera and His BarberaCares Program will join the Veterans Radiothon at the 8:00 am hour to co-host alongside John DeBella. encouraging listeners to make a donation to help the heroes who have put their lives on the line for our country. Throughout the broadcast, local and national celebrities will call-in and stop by to encourage listeners to make donations. The 12-hour fundraiser live broadcast will be fittingly held outside at the National Constitution Center on Independence Mall.
Gary Barbera feels honored to participate in this broadcast to raise money for the Veterans Multi Service Center. "It's our duty to continue honoring our military veterans by providing services to assist these men, women, and their families after their call of duty concludes," explained Barbera. "The VMC serves those who served. Our contributions are important to keep these programs available. It's the least we can do to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice."
The Greater Philadelphia region is blessed to have the non-profit Veteran's Multi-Service Center located on 4th Street in Philadelphia.The VMC is a centralized facility with dedicated board members such as Jonathan Saidel and Lisa DeBella, volunteers and employees providing necessary assistance to our veterans such as meals, housing, training, opportunities and education, job placement and advancement as well as guidance for filing to receive VA benefits.
The VMC has been selected by the US Department of Veterans Affairs to mentor and guide other non-profit agencies in delivering services to our Veterans because of its experience and established level of excellence in program proficiency.
Last year, the Radiothon collected $190,000 in donations to help our local heroes who have served our country.
