London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 04/15/2014 --The partnership will see CNI UK provide a free energy health check to any community owned club, resulting in advice on how a Club can increase its facility energy efficiency with no capital outlay. Participating Clubs will then have the option of retaining the money they have saved, re-investing for further commercial energy efficiency or offsetting the clubs residual carbon footprint.
As well as helping its member clubs, Supporters Direct will benefit from the partnership with CNI UK supporting Supporters Direct with its work to create more sustainable community owned clubs.
Mark Bullock, Commercial Manager of Supporters Direct, commented “We have worked closely with CNI over recent months to create a service for the Supporter Owned Club network which will deliver real-time cost savings. To be able to couple these savings with a reduction in carbon emissions provides a commercially viable solution to sustainability. We welcome CNI UK to our growing list of club development partners, who alongside us are helping to build winning clubs.”
Edward Carlton, Managing Director of CNI UK, added: “CNI UK are proud to be engaging in this new partnership with Supporters Direct; an organisation at the heart of numerous Clubs owned by their supporters across Europe. Together with Supporters Direct, CNI UK has been granted the opportunity and ability to implement a host of sound sustainability practices within a large number of Clubs. Supporters Direct are based on the principle of applying best practice across their members, and CNI UK are delighted to be a part of this.”
