Rep. Bill Posey will discuss the current autism epidemic and issues that families with autistic children face. Rep. Bill Posey has an illustrious political career as he is serving his 3rd term as U.S. Congressman from the “space coast” of Florida, and he previously served in the Florida state legislature as a senator (for 8 years) and a legislator (also for 8 years). He also worked at the Kennedy Space Center through the Apollo program.
Rep. Bill Posey is currently serving on the Financial Services Committee and the Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Rep. Posey has been a great friend to the autism community, made a special effort to participate in the COGR Autism Hearing in November 2012, and was subsequently a guest at the 2013 AutismOne conference in May 2013 in Chicago, IL. Rep. Posey has also been instrumental in the release of many background documents from the CDC regarding the link between vaccines and autism.
Dr. Brian Hooker currently serves as associate professor of biology at Simpson University. He has worked in biotechnology research for 25 years and has over 50 scientific publications including recent work in the reanalysis of CDC studies that claim no relationship between vaccines and neurodevelopment disorders. Dr. Hooker has advocated for safer vaccines since 2004 and has a 16-year old vaccine-injured son who has been diagnosed with "autism."
