Lowell, MA -- (SBWire) -- 11/13/2017 --On Wednesday, November 9th, 2017 Cox Capital Management was invited to speak to the UMass Lowell Finance Society. Chief Investment Officer Bill Cox and Research Analyst/Portfolio Manager Ethan Brown presented on a variety of topics including their personal work experience, trends in the finance industry, and advice to future job seekers. Nearly 100 students, ranging from freshman to seniors, attended the presentation. Mr. Cox, a UML graduate, recounted his 35 years of experience in the investment industry ranging from his career in institutional sales to the founding of Cox Capital.
Both Mr. Cox and Mr. Brown described the firm's investment philosophy and research process and gave their thoughts on how the industry will evolve in the coming years. Of notable importance, the two unveiled a new Cox Capital internship program that will exclusively hire top talent from UMass Lowell each year. Selected candidates will get hands on experience in the world of money management, gaining insight into both fundamental and quantitative research techniques. With the internship program, Mr. Cox and Mr. Brown solidified their commitment to provide opportunity for UMass Lowell's top finance majors.
