Orinda, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/19/2014 --With a $9,250 goal CoasterDad.com has launched a crowdfunding project on Indiegogo to support the construction of a Backyard Roller Coaster, to be awarded to a US family to be named later.
The first of its kind the world, The CoasterDad Project is intended to teach parents and kids the value of "Physics, Family, and Fun" through the design and construction of backyard roller coasters. Lauded as an "Education Phenomenon for the whole family," the CoasterDad Project is gaining ground, garnering thousands of views on its youtube channel and website, and opening doors for kids, parents, and teachers everywhere. The idea was hatched by CoasterDad founder Will Pemble, who discovered the educational and community value of backyard roller coasters when he built one at his Orinda, California home.
"Too many kids don't love science and math, and I'd like to change that," says Pemble. "Over and over, I've seen kids step up and do the math when there's a great experience on the other side. Backyard Roller Coasters give kids a reason that's meaningful and immediate, and that's what motivates kids."
The first step in accomplishing their goal is to raise funds to design and build the Backyard Roller Coaster. Slated for construction this summer the CoasterDad Project will be video recorded and made available for anyone to watch and learn from on the CoasterDad.com website. Design drawings will then be made available exclusively through CoasterDad.com for individuals and businesses who want to build backyard roller coasters of their own.
Pemble, an Internet Entrepreneur and Management Consultant said of his community oriented project, “The whole idea behind the concept was to provide engaging, challenging and exciting projects that fire the imagination and bring families together.
