Fighting the Effects of Halitosis

Halitosis (bad breath) does more than simply emanating an unpleasant odor. A face to face conversation may induce anxiety in the person suffering from halitosis or it could ruin an intimate moment with a romantic partner.

Miami, FL -- (SBWire) -- 09/16/2019 --The majority of people with halitosis simply need to change up their dental hygiene habits. The moment a portion of food or drink is consumed, liquid and food particles will begin to break down and may lodge themselves in and around the teeth. If a person does not brush or floss, it may result in a plaque coating which, in turn, will cause bad breath.

There could be more to dental hygiene than just halitosis. Dry mouth can cause bad breath because the lack of saliva prevents mouth cleaning. Many people deal with "morning breath" this should only be temporary versus all day. The use of tobacco products or health problems like diabetes may also contribute to halitosis.

Brushing and flossing at least twice a day is one way to combat halitosis. Tongue scraping and making sure to replace toothbrushes about every two months also helps. Oil pulling is an all natural approach where gently swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil for about twenty minutes and then spitting it out can help. Drinking water, eating foods such as carrots, all of these can help.
