Global Missions of Giving from the WIN Foundation

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWire) -- 06/02/2016 --All throughout the year, The WIN Foundation gives back to individuals in need. April and May were no different, with the non-profit organization undertaking several philanthropic missions to better communities domestic and abroad. In recent months, CEO Chetachi Ecton has received several awards for her efforts in serving children and families providing educational grant assistance for Africa, food for the homeless in Philadelphia and many other charitable deeds.

On April 17th, Ms. Chetachi Ecton received the 2016 Humanitarian Award from the Corona Lions Club. The 48th event for the Corona Lions Club, it featured a dinner and dance in Queens, NY.

On April 23rd, The When In Need Foundation led a mission to the Internally Displaced Persons camp in Kuchingoro, Nigeria. The organization handed out food and clothing to the displaced peoples, also providing them with medical care. The mission was held in collaboration with the Wazobia FM radio station which broadcast details about the living conditions of the camp to raise awareness.

WIN Foundation hosted an Awareness Program at the International Conference Center in Abuja, Nigeria themed "Restoring Hope in Humanitarian Work" with several dignitaries in attendance on April 26th.

On May 2nd, The When In Need Foundation donated and commissioned a new water project in Ngokpala LGA of Imo State, Nigeria that will support a community of 30,000 residents including women and children.

WiN launched its Agricultural Farm Project in Ntueke community in Imo State designed to particularly empower women on May 4th. The program encourages peasant farmers to plant cash crops to help the community feed its residents in order to provide sustainable development and employment.

On May 16th, The WIN Foundation hosted their Prom Dress Giveaway. The event took place at the Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. For deserving high school seniors, the foundation gave away prom dresses for underprivileged girls. Event partners included the Lucky Me Foundation and The Office of State Senator Vincent Hughes.
