Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWire) -- 07/12/2017 --Back in 1977 no one could have known that "just another cop show" would have a strong fan base four decades later. Thanks to the Internet, the endless generosity of the cast of that cop show and the relative immortality of re-reruns, online streaming and DVD box sets, CHips has a loyal and active fan base that many shows in active production could only wish for.
Sue Walsh, very probably the #1 CHiPs fan in the world, is putting together the 40th Anniversary CHiPS reunion On September 23rd at the Hilton Hotel at the Los Angeles Airport. This one day event runs from 9am to 6pm and, more than ever, fans are urged to attend. That's because CHiPs star Larry Wilcox (Officer Jon Baker) posted on Facebook recently that with the actors' aging and some experiencing medical challenges there's no better time than now to see the stars of CHiPs.
This 40th anniversary reunion isn't Sue's first rodeo in terms of CHiPs events as she organized and executed the 35th anniversary celebration with great success.
Tickets to attend are a modest $35 and out-of-town attendees enjoy a special negotiated rate at the Hilton. All of the details are available on the official reunion website - http://chips40th.com.
To make this show more affordable to fans and attendees on a budget, a GoFundMe campaign has been started to offset the cost of the autograph and photo op sessions with the cast.
Everyone who ever enjoyed an episode of CHiPs is encouraged to help by visiting the crowdfunding campaign at https://www.gofundme.com/chips40th.
