Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWire) -- 03/07/2014 --Lending Hope Foundation has a mission to “End Poverty with Education and Capital” with their no profit charity for micro-loans projects. Their latest project is actively fundraising to provide funds for micro-loans and basic business education workshops for Rimac, Peru’s entrepreneurs.
A California non-profit since 2009, Lending Hope Foundation provides sustainable ways to assist people in third world countries to become self reliant by offering micro-loans and free business workshops. Their latest fundraising campaign on Indiegogo.com will focus on the inhabitants of Rimac Peru. Lending Hope Rimac is aimed to help the ambulant salesman on street corners, the little fruit stand, hot dog car owners or pastry cart owners to create a successful enterprise. The educational programs are meant for the poorest and most vulnerable in the area, especially women and young people.
“Our system empowers each individual to become self-reliant and gives them a chance to regain their dignity by giving them the means to independently provide for their families and themselves. Our goal is to help families realize permanent long term financial improvements in the livelihoods of thousands of people,” Lending Hope Foundation’s Indiegogo campaign web page states.
Beginning with free business workshops, funded by Lending Hope, micro-entrepreneurs are provided with basic business training and education. Upon the completion of the economic program, recipients receive initial capital to enable them to start a micro-enterprise. Funding goal for this specific campaign is 50K dollars to support the business workshops, classroom supplies and award micro-loans to at least 100 candidates. The free business workshops consist of eight sessions covering basic concepts like managing time, maximizing limited resources, preparing a market study before jumping into the business, licensing, budgeting, etc. At the completion of their eight sessions, the micro-entrepreneurs prepare a business plan which is then analyzed for its viability before Lending Hope approves a micro-loan ranging from 200 to 1,000 U.S. Dollars.
Lending Hope’s Non-Profit organization is staffed entirely by volunteers. Every penny earned in this Indiegogo campaign will go towards the micro-finance project in Rimac, PERU. Donations for this project are being accepted at Indiegogo.com through April April 18, 2014. Lending Hope Foundation believes that Rimac, Peru has abundant opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs. Located only steps away from the heart of Old Lima, Rimac is now overrun with pueblo jovenes or shanty towns. These towns started growing from people coming to the capital from the Andes Mountains looking for new job opportunities in the big city.
