Atlanta, GA -- (SBWire) -- 06/28/2016 --The inspiration for Emilie Eklin Khair's unique new children's book, Kudzu for Christmas, came from a very unlikely place— kudzu vines. Driving her two sons and their friends to school every day, Emilie began creating games to pass the time. She would point to the mounds of green that covered trees and electrical lines and ask the boys to identify the shapes. The game of finding imaginary creatures within the kudzu leaves was a carpool favorite.
"It became quite a competition," says Emilie. "Even now, in their twenties, my sons point to leafy monsters they envision lurking underneath the creeping plants!"
Published by BookLogix, Kudzu for Christmas is a touching holiday tale surrounding this childhood tradition. In the book, readers join Sam, Andy, and their friends as they learn about the history of kudzu, find cool creatures and friendly beasts, and even see their favorite pets within the kudzu vines. But when winter weather exposes bare branches, Sam and Andy's mom has to find a new way to inspire their imagination and keep the dream of a kudzu-filled Christmas alive.
Kudzu for Christmas is now available on Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com, Kobo, Apple iBooks, and Shop.BookLogix.com.
