New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 06/01/2016 --Three Act Theatre Company has announced that it is making use of the popular crowdfunding website Indiegogo to bring to the stage "Croaker," a new musical by Jason Marks and Debra Clinton. Opening night is tentatively set for July 29, 2016.
Donors share a graduated list of incentives for helping fund the musical.
"Our Summer Immersion Program teaches aspiring young performers the art of presenting a professional stage production," says Eric Mark Olson, Three Act Theatre's artistic director. "By creating opportunities for generations of artists to learn from each other, telling stories that break down walls and discover truth—we nurture both talent and a better world."
He adds that every dollar donated is combined with student tuitions to underwrite production costs including theater and rehearsal space rental, costumes, scenery and props, professional mentorship and the printing of scripts, scores and playbills.
"Each tax deductible donation enriches our program threefold: it provides scholarships for students with limited financial means, creates real jobs for aspiring artists, and brings a thoroughly enjoyable musical to life for audiences of all generations," says Olson. "Now in our third year, our Summer Immersion Program has exceeded expectations of students, their parents, participating adult actors and audiences alike. We're proud of the high quality, inspiring theatre we continue to produce together."
