Marietta, GA -- (SBWire) -- 06/14/2016 --In just a few short weeks, hundreds of librarians, book lovers, and fans of Jewish culture will descend on downtown Charleston, North Carolina, for a weekend of valuable discourse on Jewish literature, the Jewish experience, and Jewish history. Every year, the Association of Jewish Libraries Conference brings Jewish communities together for a few days of learning and enlightenment led by experts in various fields. On June 19 the 51st AJL will commence, and Oy Toys will be on hand. The Jewish toy company will be present to supply copies of the year's winning books from the National Jewish Book Awards. In addition, they will promote books and materials from EKS publishing – a small California publisher that specializes in Hebrew materials and the newest publications from Kar-Ben Publishing in Minneapolis, among others.

The Association of Jewish Libraries promotes Jewish literacy through enhancement of libraries and library resources and through leadership for the profession and practitioners of Judaica librarianship. The Association fosters access to information, learning, teaching and research relating to Jews, Judaism, the Jewish experience and Israel. At last year's conference, attendees were privy to numerous sessions on librarianship, reading, Jewish culture and history, and the Holocaust. Presenters included information science professionals, librarians, scholars, and writers from the Washington, D.C. area as well as from around the country and the world.

When the conference begins, the speakers and events will reflect the conference title: Libraries of the Future: Innovate, Integrate, Motivate. Specifically, how can we learn for the future by promoting our libraries? Professional learning and sharing will help participants to enlighten and promote their unique contributions and usefulness to their community – whether clergy, congregants, administrators, staff, or students. Led by experts in their fields, the Charleston conference's workshops and networking will inspire with visionary conversations and practical ideas to take home.
