Avondale, AZ -- (SBWire) -- 08/31/2011 --Salazar Kia is excited to announce that the refreshed 2012 Kia Soul is now available at their Avondale, AZ Kia dealership. Following a big year of awards and record sales, the new Soul now offers more power, improved style, and better fuel economy.
The 2012 Kia Soul offers two new direct-injection engines. The base engine is a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 135 horsepower and 121 pound-feet of torque. The second engine, a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, is a little more powerful. This engine, standard on the Soul+ and Soul!, outputs 160 horsepower and 143 pounds-feet of torque.
In addition to the added power, the direct-injection engines also improve upon the Soul’s previous fuel economy, giving the 2012 model an EPA-estimated rating of 28 MPG city/34 MPG highway for the base engine, and 27 MPG city/33 MPG highway for the 2.0-liter I4.
The Soul’s mid-cycle refresh also includes a style update. The Soul has received new projector headlamps with LED daytime running lamps, a re-sculpted hood, and redesigned front and rear bumpers. Two new exterior colors, Canyon and Moss, are also available. Inside the 2012 Soul, an Infinity premium audio system, rainbow speaker lights, and Kia’s UVO infotainment center have been added as well. A new premium package adds heated front seats, navigation, automatic climate control, and push-button start.
