Unemployment Rate Decreases in North Carolina, Hound Finds Nearly 22,500 Job Openings

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWire) -- 11/17/2011 --According to the North Carolina's Employment Securities Commission Report, around 92 counties of its100 counties have noted a decrease in the unemployment rate.

Yadkin County was one of those 92 counties with decreased unemployment rate at 8.8 percent in September. The county's unemployment rate in the previous month was 9.3 percent, up 0.5 percent from this month's rate. It is also down from last year's rate of 9 percent, with the most recent updated rate at 8.8.

In North Carolina, Yadkin County holds the lowest unemployment rate compared to the Wilkes County at 11.5 percent, Iredell County at 10.6 percent, Surry County at 10.3 percent, Davie and Forsyth counties at 9.5 percent and Stokes County at 9.3 percent. In September, nearly 18,309 people were considered to be part of the county's labor force with about 1,603 unemployed. Over 1,690 were unemployed out of the 18,245 people of Yadkin's labor force in August.
