Malé, Republic of Maldives -- (SBWire) -- 11/29/2011 --A new Resort Manager has joined the award-winning resort, Baros Maldives (http://www.baros.com/), in time for the forthcoming holiday and festival season.
Sven Walter was born in Lucerne in Switzerland and, although only 41 years old, brings a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry to his new post as Resort Manager. Having started his career as a chef, he served for 14 years in hotels in Switzerland, the USA and Canada, before becoming an Executive Chef and then deciding to use his experience to train for hotel management.
He returned to Switzerland and took up studies at the prestigious hotel management school Belvoirpark in Zurich. After successful completion he joined Sheraton as F&B Manager in Georgia and Director of F&B in Nigeria later on, before moving to Mauritius where he continued his career as EAM in charge of F&B of two business hotels in Port Louis before becoming Resident Manager. He was General Manager of a pre-opening class hotel in Myanmar prior to joining Baros Maldives (http://www.baros.com/).
His knowledge of the hospitality industry and of working in tropical countries, gives Sven Walter a deep understanding of guest expectations and requirements for the perfect holiday.
