Scott Tucker, Level 5 Team Support Mason Daughters on the Start of 2012 Season

Mason Daughters is having a good start on the 2012 season with the support from the Level 5 Team and Tucker.

Madison, WI -- (SBWire) -- 02/24/2012 --Mason Daughters, a Level 5 Motorsports development driver, was enjoying a great start on the 2012 season in karting with the support of Scott Tucker and the Level 5 Team. Tucker is a five time national driving champion from Leawood, Kansas who started the development project to help and assist the new racers who wanted to learn more about karting.

Mason Daughters is having a good start on the 2012 season with the support from the Level 5 Team and Tucker. Mason Daughters is a 14 year-old racer from Polo, Missouri. His 2012 season started at the prestigious Gatorz Challenge of the Americas at the Musselam Honda Circuit in Tucson, Arizona. He faced some of the best karting teams on this challenge. Also, Daughters managed to get 15th and 19th place respectively in the pair of Rotax division final races.

According to Daughters, it is the only that he is going to learn and get better in racing. He said that driving against the toughest competition is the best to learn and experience more. He also said that he is honored of participating in these prestigious events. However, he said that he joined the competition not only to gain experience but he also brought his willpower to win. Daughters said that they will keep getting better and they have to be patient and be consistent.

Basically, the Gatorz Challenge of the Americas is composed of a three-round-six event West Coast competition. It is actually part of the qualifications to join the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. The next round of the challenge will be held on February 24 to 26 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Daughters managed to qualify on the 23rd place on the two challenges and he made a great progress on the events as well. Phil Giebler, the team owner and the 2007 Indianapolis 500 Rookie of the Year, was pleased on the performance of daughters because most of the racers on the event are older drivers. According to Giebler, Mason had a hard weekend because he was placed on the most competitive classes in the country, the Senior Division. The Rotax Senior class is the most competitive class of the competition for the weekend.

Based on the statement of Giebler, Mason started at the middle of the 33-kart fields. He said that Mason got tangled with another racer when he moved up to the 15th place and finished at the 30th place. However, he managed to rise up on the ranks on the final lap and finished at rank 15.

Giebler also explained details about the Sunday event. He said that Mason got a good start in the first three laps after getting to 11th place after he started at the 22nd place. The attempt of the racer to pass Mason caused a flat rear tire be still continued and finished on the 19th place. He said that Mason showed great determination even if he had some problems on flat tires.

The debut of daughters in the 2012 season began in the Florida Winter Tour’s Rotax Max Challenge held at Palm Beach, Florida. He managed to get 31st and 19th places on the races after making entering the Senior Division. With the assistance of Tucker and the Level 5 team, Daughters made a spectacular 2011 go-kart rank after getting the 17th place from the 60 racers in the TaG Junior main event held at the 14th annual Superkarts USA Super Nationals in Las Vegas. It is considered as the largest karting event in the world.

According to Tucker, a five-time national driving champion, Mason is continuously growing as a driver and he is beginning to develop his skills. He said that they are really impressed on his determination and he is getting great guidance and coaching from Phil. He also stated that they will be looking forward on the performance of Mason on 2012.

Mason Daughters was one of the racers that have been sponsored by Level 5 Motorsports together with four other youth racers, which includes his younger brother, Garrett. Mason managed to obtain the Liberty Cup championship in the TaG Jr. Class of the Kansa City Karting Association in 2011. He managed to win four events in one weekend and considered as the holder of the all-time track record for the fastest lap. He also made it within 100 points of winning the Heartland Sprint Series Championship in Kansas City.
