Mr. Sayles was inducted during the IATL’s recent Annual Meeting held March 28 through April 1, 2012, in Palm Beach, Fla. Chartered in 1954, the IATL’s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
“I am honored to be selected to join the International Academy of Trial Lawyers,” says Mr. Sayles, a veteran of scores of jury trials, including several listed among the top verdicts in the nation. “Membership in this group is something that any trial lawyer hopes to achieve, and I’m very happy to be invited into this outstanding organization and be included among its outstanding Fellows.”
The IATL honor is the latest recognition for Mr. Sayles, who recently was named a “Trial Legend” by the Dallas Bar Association’s Tort and Insurance Practice Section. He previously was named “Trial Lawyer of the Year” by the Texas chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and routinely is listed among the leading courtroom lawyers in the nation. The IATL limits its invitation-only membership to 500 Fellows from the United States. IATL members have attained the highest level of advocacy. A comprehensive screening process identifies the most distinguished members of the trial bar through peer and judicial review. Mr. Sayles was evaluated by his colleagues and the judges in his jurisdiction and was highly recommended as possessing these qualifications and characteristics.
