Dallas, TX -- (SBWire) -- 04/26/2012 --Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) patients including Lauren “Saige” Pruitt will participate in a Learn to Golf clinic taught by golf professionals specially trained to teach children with physical challenges. Junior golfers will learn about golf safety, etiquette, driving, chipping and putting. The clinic will take place Saturday, April 21, from 9 - 11:30 a.m. at Grayson County College Golf Course in Denison, Texas.
TSRHC’s Learn to Golf program is designed for patients with challenging physical conditions. Learn to Golf provides the tools and instruction needed for patients to participate in and reap the rehabilitative benefits of golf.
The Learn to Golf program is proudly presented by WorldLink, Inc. The program also receives support from the North Texas Golf Course Superintendents Association and the National Alliance for Accessible Golf, which is funded through the United States Golf Association (USGA). There is no charge for patients to participate.
Lauren “Saige” Pruitt, age 12 of Flower Mound has been a patient of TSRHC for the past year and is being treated for scoliosis http://www.tsrhc.org/scoliosis-spine.htm. Saige enjoys going to the golf course with her dad and is looking forward to her first Learn to Golf clinic. Saige is in the sixth grade at Forestwood Middle School in Flower Mound, where she enjoys playing the trombone in the school band. She also likes to play basketball, volleyball and enjoys swimming.
