Raleigh, NC -- (SBWire) -- 11/02/2009 -- Capitol Broadcasting Company (CBC) has announced the transition of Sports Radio 850 The Buzz to 620 AM – WDNC. WDNC, formerly 620 The Bull, will be known as 620 The Buzz. Many of the highly rated, long time local and national sports talk shows heard on 850 have made the transition to 620 The Buzz, effective immediately.

The new weekday lineup is as follows:

6 am-9am Adam Gold & Joe Ovies
9am-12noon Dan Patrick
12noon-2pm The Jim Rome Show
2pm-4pm The Scott Van Pelt Show
4pm-7pm Primetime with the Packman

Fans of the popular David Glenn Show can now find it on 99.9FM The Fan – ESPN Radio weekdays from 12 noon - 3 PM.

“We are excited to offer a new lineup of local and national sports programming to the Triangle,” said George Habel, Vice President of Capitol Sports. “Although we are saying goodbye to 850 The Buzz, we see 620 The Buzz as a new and improved option for the local sports fans, airing all the local favorites as well as some of the most popular nationally syndicated shows.”

In August, CBC announced it would expand its radio sports coverage in the Triangle by acquiring 620 The Bull (WDNC) and the rights to their existing local sports programming. The launch of ESPN Deportes 1550 AM (WCLY) in October was the first move in the sports radio programming restructuring. Long time sports radio market veteran Brian Maloney is overseeing the three station sports cluster as General Manager.
