New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 04/20/2010 -- Marie Saint Pierre presented her collection for Fall/Winter 2010 on March 1st 2010 at the renowned Marche Bonsecours in Montréal. The fashion show was filled with press, media, celebrities and other Canadian and,not only, fashion notables and clients that showed up to view the designer's new collection.
SPOTTED: Pierre-Karl Péladeau, Diane Dufresne, Patrick Huard, Élise Guilbault, Sophie Faucher, Glen Baxter (CTV), Adrian Mainellea (Fashion File)
The collection displayed the designer's signature artistry with knits and artfully ruched fabrics creating an ultra-wearable assortment of original looks. Cozy long cardigans, long jackets and pants, sculptured shoulders, voluminous skirts - all in very modern silhouettes. Matt blacks and blinding whites were mixed with beige "second skin" colors. The collection was all about contrast. Marie's sculptural looks would look perfect on the red carpet for the more avant-garde types. "I like the idea of taking something traditional and giving it a modern spin" says Marie Saint Pierre about this year's collection.
In the accessories category, Marie displayed true ingenuity with intricate, oversized fabric ornaments decorating the necklines and waists of the models. The designer described her collection as an exploration of innovation and design.
