West Chester, PA -- (SBWire) -- 09/02/2010 -- About 30 months after re-launching as a user-generated directory of businesses, individuals, and ideas, the site MyWikiBiz.com has hosted over 1,000,000 page loads. Its success as an alternative to Wikipedia for "less notable" enterprises to gain exposure and boost search engine optimization is apparently not flagging, either. The directory's founder, Gregory Kohs, explains his site's recent traffic patterns, "We had more unique visitors in August than we had in July, and July had more than June."

Averaging over 55,000 page loads per month is something that only the most popular 75,000 sites or so can achieve. Which means that MyWikiBiz is a more popular Internet destination than about 99.9% of all registered web domains. The growth in traffic over time is borne out in a graphic chart hosted on the site:

To celebrate the recent milestone in traffic volume, MyWikiBiz is hosting a free contest for editors who register (also for free) on the site. To win $50, you have to be the first to correctly identify which image file on MyWikiBiz (there are many hundreds) has been actively clicked, copied, and saved by more site visitors than any other graphic on the site. Contest ends September 30, 2010.
