Shenzhen, GD -- (SBWire) -- 09/13/2010 -- GPS Jammers may be the only way of guaranteeing that the government isn't snooping on citizens with GPS tracking (http://www.chinavasion.com/index.php/cName/electronic-gadgets-gps-gadgets/) according to portable GPS source, Chinavasion.
At the beginning of 2010 a Oregon man was convicted of drug cultivation after law enforcement officials attached a GPS tracking device to the man's jeep without a warrant.
A California federal court refused to hear the appeal effectively granting the police the right to breach the man's fourth amendment rights.
The Californian court decided, as the Jeep was on property that was not clearly marked as private, that federal agents were well within their rights to carry out GPS tracking.
According to Rose Li, PR manager for portable GPS supplier Chinavasion, the decision is especially ominous given the nature of the breach.
"It's a decision right out of a dystopian science fiction novel," according to Chinavasion's Rose Li. "The implication is that if anybody has a car and it is left anywhere in public it is ok of people to attach a GPS tracker to it."
Anybody who wants to be sure they are not being involved in GPS tracking now will have to thoroughly check their vehicle each time it has been on public property or use GPS jammers according to Chinavasion's Rose Li.
There are several options available that will not only block GPS devices from transmitting signals but also prevent cell phone signals from allowing tracking as well according to Chinavasion's Rose Li, with entry costs as low as 20 US dollars in some cases.
"This is a problem technology has created, and provided a solution for," according to Chinavasion's Rose Li.
