Calgary, Alberta -- (SBWire) -- 09/14/2010 -- Are you an energetic individual who loves to travel? Then you might be the perfect candidate to host the upcoming travel TV series "Paradise Hunter". The online job competition – dubbed "52 Weeks Paid Vacation" – is inviting anyone in the world to apply, no experience required.
"When people watch our pilot episode, the comment we hear back most often is 'how can I get that job?'," said Dennis Kambeitz, CEO and founder of Paradise Hunter.
"We thought it would be fun to open it up to everyone, and that way we should have lots of great applicants to choose from."
The series will showcase a different destination every episode, where the host will learn about the life, culture and sights of each country. Along the way, they'll meet locals and expatriates, as they explore the world in search of their paradise.
In addition to an annual salary of $60,000 USD, in the final show of the season, the host will reflect back on their journey and choose "their own piece of paradise", worth up to $150,000 USD.
"It really is the opportunity of a lifetime," said Dennis. "To be paid to travel to these incredible places is a dream job, but to also get a free property from anywhere in the world - that could be life changing. Our host will truly be hunting for their paradise".
About The Application Process
Applications will be accepted at http://www.ParadiseHunter.com until November 5, 2010. Anyone 18 years and older is invited to send in a 60-second video clip showing why they are the ideal Paradise Hunter.
While the job involves hosting a television series, no acting experience is required. "The number one thing we're looking for is a passion to travel and explore other cultures," said Dennis. "It's exciting for us as well, because we're asking the world to help us select the winning host. Everyone can participate, and the public will have a strong voice in deciding what the 'feel' of the TV series will ultimately be."
Public votes will help select the top 40 applicants to move forward. From those 40, a second online voting round will see five applicants selected by in-house judges and another five chosen by the public. Those final 10 candidates will be contacted to take part in screen tests and interviews.
The next Paradise Hunter will then be selected – to begin the adventure of a lifetime.
