London, UK -- (SBWire) -- 04/28/2015 --Recent figures reveal that of 100 HR directors questioned, only 4% said that they felt that advertising via social media methods like LinkedIn was the way to get the best quality business candidates.
These results may appear surprising considering that online mediums have been pushed in recent months as a key way of building business. When it comes to obtaining those high-earning, skilled candidates, these figures could indicate that a portrayal of personality and passion is what is most valued. This has excited much comment from a number of recruitment specialists, including London-based providers GSR2R.
The survey itself was undertaken through Norrie Johnson Recruitment – as part of an initiative to determine patterns in senior and high-earning recruitment. Getting the right person for the right role is essential, and over the past few years, the internet and social media have been especially championed for this. However, the results seem to imply that sites such as LinkedIn, providing connections, are not always the most respected or responsive when it comes to top recruitment.
"These results highlight that although sites such as LinkedIn can be helpful in regards to recruitment, many people still prefer other methods – especially personal elements of the recruitment process which give both candidates and recruiters the opportunity to show skill and dedication", a spokesperson from GSR2R told us. Although some may think that advertising through social media channels is the most effective, that the majority prefer other mediums really does show that recruiting is taking a turn away from the usual modes.
