Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWire) -- 06/15/2015 --Log homes are one of the oldest forms of house building, and still have much to commend them over more modern approaches. Log homes provide amazing temperature control and, when responsibly sourced, are much kinder to the environment, as well as being aesthetically beautiful inside and out. The Log Home Builders Association was founded in 1965 as an organization committed to popularizing log homes, and is this year celebrating its fiftieth anniversary. In order to help celebrate, they have added an additional class on September 5th and 6th, 2015 in Las Vegas, to teach people how to build log homes themselves.

The class is described as helping people of all backgrounds, most of whom have never had any experience in house building, to master the tools and approaches and source the materials necessary to build their own log home from scratch (http://www.buildloghomes.org/how-build-log-cabin/). The website has full details on the class, and inspiring stories from former students.

Building a log home that passes all building codes and health and safety regulations may seem daunting, but students of the LHBA have created staggering, breath taking homes for themselves using simple, tried and tested methodologies that have lasted centuries. These homes were built by owner-builders using techniques that cost a tiny fraction of log homes built with kits or hiring a professional builder.

A spokesperson for The Log Home Builders Association explained, "We are thrilled to be celebrating our 50th anniversary this year, and delighted to be able to offer attendees the opportunity to create their home for a fraction of the cost of buying one, and cheaper even than using a so-called 'kit' (http://www.buildloghomes.org/why-you-shouldnt-buy-log-cabin-kits/), which cost more and produce lower quality results than our methods. We can't wait to meet those who turn up for the class, running on the 5th and 6th of September this year. Anyone who wants to attend should visit the website immediately to secure their place."
