Lewes, DE -- (SBWire) -- 06/18/2015 --In May 2015, Do-Fluoride constantly marched into the downstream industries based on its fluorochemical business. This captured wide attention.
- In early May, it announced the progress made in the R&D of organic fluorine-enriched intermediate and the successful development of fluorine-enriched pharmaceuticals such as norfloxacin. It began to step into the pharmaceutical field.
- In late May, it noted the plan to acquire 72.5% of shares in Hebei Hongxing, to further extend its alternative energy industrial chain on the basis of its electronic grade hydrofluoric acid, lithium fluoride and LiPF6 and to gain access to the terminal market. This will be beneficial to the enterprise in marching into the alternative energy vehicle manufacturing field.
In addition, the Chinese government continued completing related environmental protection systems this year, the 1st year for the implementation of the new Environmental Protection Law. For instance, the MEP released 6 new national standards for air pollutant emissions, to largely reduce the discharges. Of this, 2 standards are in direct relation to the inorganic fluoride and fluororesin sectors.
Notably, the export tariff on HF is reduced from the original 10% to zero from 1 May 2015. This will be favorable to the related domestic enterprises, especially in their overseas market expansion. Then the exports of HF will be stimulated to increase, which to some extent will ease the severe overcapacity in China.
In May 2015, Daikin, as a representative enterprise among Japanese manufacturers who are promoting R32 substitution technology, is speeding up to launch its R32 air conditioner on the global market. Driven by Daikin, Chinese enterprises also accelerate the development of R32 substitution technology during their development of R290 substitution technology.
In May 2015, Gree announced its plan to launch its R290 air conditioner, which has been labelled with the Environmental Protection and Low Carbon Label, on the domestic market in the near future. It is the 2nd enterprise after Haier Group that plans to launch a R290 air conditioner for use in China. In accordance with a questionnaire survey conducted by Publisher earlier at the 2015 China Refrigeration Expo, the accelerated development of the R290 technology process will be a new highlight of the Chinese refrigeration and air-conditioning industry.
In May 2015, Zhejiang Sanmei, one of the major R134a manufacturers in China set up a milestone in the output of vehicle-purpose R134a aerosol can. In addition, the high price of R134a in 2015 caused by the supply shortage, gave support to Zhejiang Sanmei regarding the revenue from its R134a business. However as a whole, the Chinese R134a industry is still restricted by the overcapacity.
In May 2015, the price negotiated in the Chinese PTFE industry meeting was equal to that last month, as an end to the successive up-regulations in the last 2 months. Publisher believes that the Chinese PTFE market will be stabilized during late May-June, with a slowdown in the price upturn.
In late May 2015, Do-Fluoride announced to acquire 72.5% of shares in Hebei Hongxing, so as to further extend its alternative energy industrial chain based on its electronic grade hydrofluoric acid, lithium fluoride and LiPF6 and to gain access to the terminal market. This will be beneficial to the enterprise in marching into the alternative energy vehicle manufacturing field.
In May 2015, Do-Fluoride announced the progress made in the research on organic fluorine-enriched intermediates and the development of related fluorine-enriched drugs. This indicates that Do-Fluoride has marched into a new field – fluorine-enriched pharmaceuticals, after the transformative development of electronic chemicals.
In May 2015, the MEP released 6 new national standards for air pollutant emissions, discharges to be largely reduced compared with the standards currently in effect. Of this, some new standards are directly in relation to inorganic fluoride and fluororesin sectors. This will force industries to make structural adjustment, especially the transition in economic growth pattern and the acceleration in backward capacity elimination.
In May 2015, China officially implements the zero-tariff policy for HF exports. This will be evidently beneficial to domestic HF producers, as it will contribute to easing the operation pressure caused by severe overcapacity.
In April 2015, the ex-works price of fluorite (CaF2>97%) in China increased slightly. However as a whole, this market still has no potential to rebound in the first half year.
In April 2015, the Chinese AlF3 market rebounded to some extent, mainly driven by the warming-up downstream industry, the increased prices of raw materials and the low operating rate. However, Publisher predicts that the Chinese AlF3 market will not recover largely in the first half year.
