Stockholm, Sweden -- (SBWire) -- 11/05/2010 -- Many music lovers want to record and write their own tracks, but just don’t know where or how to get started. Now, music making hopefuls with no previous music or studio experience can record and mix their tracks online at Soundation.com.

Popular Web-based sequencing program, Soundation Studio, unveiled this week that users are now able to record directly from their computers into the online program, making it even easier for newbies to lay down their own tracks.

Developed by leading loops and samples distributor PowerFX, Soundation Studio features a robust interface and comes with 11 real-time effects, more than 400 royalty free loops, four virtual instruments, three synthesizers, and a drum machine. Users can also upload their own sounds, purchase samples from PowerFX right from inside the sequencer. Artists can then save, store and publish their creations to their social networks like Facebook.

The new recording feature allows anyone to simply plug a mic into their computer and begin recording immediately, with no additional equipment needed. This makes Soundation Studio an even more complete online studio/sequencing solution, and a great option for both music endeavors and other vocal projects, and a great fit for both amateur and more seasoned artists.

“As we were testing out recording in Soundation, we had so much fun, we delayed the release,” said Bil Bryant, CEO of PowerFX . “We were struck by how many uses there are for computer-to-net recording. Besides making a complete music track, you could record an inspired idea, vocal ringtone, audio blog, podcast with a killer soundtrack, greeting or comic message.”

The Soundation Studio sequencer is free for users to create from provided sounds, and download their tracks to their computers, or share them online. Musicians can also try out the recording feature for free, but to be able to save, store, download or share songs with recorded tracks or uploaded samples, users will have to purchase an account. All accounts include a desktop application called AudioLocker which allows you to import your own sounds in Soundation as well as save and store all your Soundation productions on/line for as little as $19.

In addition to the free loops, virtual instruments and effects, artists can purchase more sounds from including the 5,000 loop Premium searchable Sound Library that exists right in the application. All sounds are from the renowned PowerFX library and can be “drag n dropped”

“Soundation gives you almost limitless possibilities,” continued Bryant. “We wanted people to be able to start on their audio projects immediately, with very little investment or learning curve. With Soundation, you can be up and recording that song idea or creating your own podcast right away. And whether you are an amateur or a pro, you can always access your sequencing software and recorded files from the Web, anywhere in the world.

No account is needed to get started, just click on Studio at Soundation.com and begin by dragging loops from the right side Library into the sequencer, in a fashion similar to Acid, GarageBand, and other related desktop applications. Sequencer newbies will find the regularly-updated Learn section helpful, with explanations of functions, how-tos, and more.
