Hauz Khas, New Delhi -- (SBWire) -- 12/23/2010 -- Apeejay Institute of Design, a premier designing institution hosted the 8th ‘Design Showcase’ last week at the Institute premises. Maintaining their quest for excellence, graduating students showcased Research Documents and Live Industry Projects from four areas of specialization - Interior, Fashion, Textile and Graphic Design. Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh, Chairman, National Handicrafts and Handloom museum, New Delhi inaugurated the festival.
Interior Design students researched and documented on topics like Eco Friendly Mud Houses, Old Age Home, Heritage Village, and Interior of a Train Compartment, Book-Eco and Retail Store etc. On the other hand, Textile Design students showcased their potential and talent through projects on topics like Mandala - the soul of Universe, Spirals, Tropical Forest for designing the paces of Living-cum-Dinning room, Pool side Restaurant, Bedroom and Product Ranges and students of Fashion Design displayed a project in collaboration with IIT on “Enabled Clothing for Elderly Women”. They also designed Thematic collections on Zalakdozi, Tulips and “Fashion on Wild side” for International as well as Domestic markets/clients.
On the occasion, Mrs. Sushma Berlia, President of the Apeejay Stya Group and Vice-President, Apeejay Education Society said, “Apeejay Institute of Design offers world class education under the aegis of Apeejay Education Society. This time the Design Show was inspired by Advertisement Campaigns and Packaging also. The main thrust of the Graphic Design students were on topics like M&M, Graphical User Interfaces, NDTV Good Times, United Colours of Benetton, Cocoberry etc. A total of 46 Research Documents and Live Projects conducted independently by the under graduate students of the Bachelor in Design Course were displayed before the audience leaving them enthralled after witnessing the versatile talent of the young students.
Apeejay Institute of Design enjoys a reputation of 100% placements with students being selected for International Internship like Milan, Dubai, Shanghai, and London etc.
