Mission Viejo, CA -- (SBWire) -- 02/22/2011 -- The Infiniti M, available now at Infiniti of Mission Viejo, is one of the first vehicles to obtain the three new crash avoidance technologies recommended by the National Highway Safety Administration.

As of 2011, the National Highway Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program, an updated safety ratings program that tests a car’s level safety, will help make car shoppers aware of the any crash-avoidance technology that is included in a car. The 2011 Infiniti M includes three mature crash avoidance technologies: Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning Technologies and Electronic Stability Control. These crash avoidance technologies are meant to avoid potentially hazardous situations that drivers encounter daily.

The leading Infiniti dealership in Tustin has models of the Infiniti M series, the M56 and M37, available now.

In addition to these three crash avoidance technologies, the Infiniti M has a blind spot warning system and the world’s first blind spot intervention system. These systems use a small camera that is placed behind the windshield that views lane markers in front of the vehicle to calculate the car’s position. The system warns of unintended lane departure with a visual display, chime, and a gentle application of the brakes.

The Intelligent Brake Assist system with Forward Collision Warning uses an infrared laser sensor unit from the Intelligent Cruise Control’s system to monitor and analyze closing speeds to a vehicle ahead. If a frontal collision is imminent and there is no response from the driver, the system will automatically engage the breaks to lower the speed and reduce the consequences of the accident.

The 2011 Infiniti M in Tustin also has a Vehicle Dynamic Control system which is the Infiniti’s version of electronic stability control. The system compares the actual vehicle cornering performance to the driver’s mode of driving. The system keeps the vehicle on the correct path by adjusting power levels and brake pressure to correct a driver who is over steering or under steering.

Car shoppers looking for a safe Infiniti in Tustin can find models of the well-equipped M series now at Infiniti of Mission Viejo. Car shopper can learn more about the Infiniti M at the Tustin Infiniti dealership by calling 949-625-4885.
