Wrexham, Wales -- (SBWire) -- 07/06/2011 --Well known Wrexham based CCTV installation firm DSW CCTV have installed a high spec CCTV and perimeter protection system for this years national Eisteddfod.
The annual national Eisteddfod attracts thousands of visitors every year and is a big boost to local tourism and economies in the area hosting it. Unfortunately however criminals can see this as an opportunity as well and due to the nature of the open plan sites often used to host the event security is a real challenge.
The famous pink pavilion is 77m long and 60m wide and standing 23m high it is a distinct landmark visible throughout the local area, this years event is sited on farmland between Ruthin Road and Bersham Road near Wrexham.
The CCTV engineers have installed a fully controllable high spec Dome camera at the highest point on the top of the pavilion which with its 36x optical zoom has an incredible overview of the whole site. It is supported by multiple static cameras feeding several monitoring stations located on the site which together form a formidable CCTV system for a temporary event such as this.
The site also has an invisible infrared perimeter defence system deployed which will alert on site security to intrusion anywhere on the site.
This is the highest level of security used at the event to date and represents a real investment in ensuring that the week-long festival goes off without problems.
