Matawan, NJ -- (SBWire) -- 10/06/2014 --The RC world has been going crazy in the last year, more so with droids in the air. Shane is a huge fan of the flying drones and owns more than a few. While he appreciate the fun factor of flying drones, he still found RC cars more appealing. As he puts it “The feeling of driving a high speed car and having control of every turn, slide, drift and sometimes crash is unmistakable.” At that moment he wondered what would happen if he took some of the tech from flying drones and installed them in RC cars. He went ahead and did exactly that. The results of his efforts have perhaps forever changes the world of RC car racing.
From reengineering the controls to enhance the accuracy of steering, acceleration and braking, to extending the range of RC cars and related visibility to working on the accelerometer, Shane left no stone unturned as he soldiered on to reinvent the RC car and put on a firm footing in direct competition with flying drones.
With 90% of the project complete, crowdfunding is sought to complete development and allow for production and distribution of his radical new RC car designs to the public.
Determined to turn his prototype into a veritable Transformer, he devoted over 3000 hours spanning four months for just this part of the project. The end result was more than he could have ever imagined and was definitely worth every second spent to get there. I am sure it could be better in multiple areas, this is why he launched his Kickstarter campaign.
Not only seeking crowdfunding, Shane is seeking input from fellow RC car enthusiasts to help make the perfect RC robot that’s much more than a car.
Key Highlights of the “I AM RC”:
1. Modern wireless steering wheel with brake and accelerator to control “ I AM RC” giving a realistic feel to the driving experience.
2. First Person View camera with head tracking capability taking the flawed line of sight method to an extensive range of 1km+
3- Get together one or more friends that have also acquired an "I AM RC" package. Now simulating a Daytona/Sega rally type experience but only this time it’s not a video game.
4. The ability to stop at any given moment and transform from car to robot. Using two wireless nunchucks one for each hand giving you the ability to interact with the world around you.
5- Now for the first time you can see what the world looks like through a robot’s eyes.
6- With crowdfunding success it’s quite possible a voice module can be added.
This crowdfunding campaign ends on October 29, 2014.
