San Francisco, CA -- (SBWire) -- 12/04/2015 --Getting the right people on board is essential for charities to gain trust and increase their community awareness, which in turn helps them achieve their aims. Picking the right people means finding those with the right skills, as well as the kind of integrity and personality that elicits confidence and respect. Shelby Shelter helps abandoned dogs and cats find new homes and foster homes for relocating parents, and board member Jessica Baker suggested a new member for the board of trustees: her sister.
At a meeting of the board of trustees they created two new positions on the board and added Michael Corbin and Jaynie Mae Baker to fill those positions. Jaynie Mae Baker is a former professional matchmaker, real estate agent, stand up comedienne and former WWE Diva, and her networking and development skills will be as valuable to the charity's strategic aims as her passion and care for animals will be to the day to day running of the shelter.
Her new role at the 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation will see her better able to help guide the future development of the shelter to help more abandoned pups and kitties find homes.
A spokesperson for Shelby Shelter explained, "The new trustees are a welcome addition to this growing cause. With thousands of animals now being abandoned every year and many of those in Shelby Shelter, we needed to step up our efforts. We understood we needed more support to grow effectively. Jaynie Mae Baker is an experienced expert in her field. With her exceptional record of charitable service, she is the ideal person to help Jessica and the team to create a future for pets and humanely reduce overpopulation."
