Glenside, PA -- (SBWire) -- 06/24/2014 --Radiometers are used to measure all aspects of the electromagnetic spectrum, most commonly in the UV, Visible and IR regions from 200 to 2000nm wavelength.
The PMA2100 radiometer from Solar Light can be used to read and record this radiation using a wide range of sensors. It also features onboard data logging at predetermined intervals, so data can be sampled over a period of time and then downloaded when complete. By having two inputs, allows sampling of different parts of the spectrum to be captured simultaneously for later analysis. A popular application for this is comparing the relative values of UVA and UVB from natural sunlight.
The PMA2200 radiometer is a single input model without data logging for those users who just need to measure snapshot readings periodically to confirm levels of radiation in a given environment rather than monitor and record the data. It also has the same wide range of sensors as the PMA2100, and both systems have the unique automatic sensor recognition built into their software, which means any sensor can be used at any time with any radiometer, and all the calibration data and any offsets will be recognized automatically. There is no need to have to keep meter and sensor sets any more!
Solar Light Company has seen great advancements throughout the years and continues to develop new products to address emerging markets. One such development is the SL-3101 radiometer system which simultaneously measures the photopic and scotopic values of an illuminated environment, indoors or outside, and allows lighting designers and engineers to determine the best, most visually effective illumination as seen by the human eye in a particular environment. By taking account of the photopic and scotopic elements, and not just measuring the watts/sq cm, it is possible to make huge energy savings with this light meter. Because of the way the eye functions, sometimes less watts means higher visual perception.
