New York, NY -- (SBWire) -- 09/15/2015 --Pete and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides aka New York's own "Ghost Doctors" have been probing the secrets of the old World's Fair grounds in Flushing Meadows for quite some time and may have unearthed a bit of paranormal activity in the process.

"Many of the old remnants of the two World's Fairs are still standing in Flushing Meadows and there is evidence of some paranormal activity associated with them," says Dr. Stew. "In fact there's a secluded area of the park that houses two Westinghouse time capsules one of which was buried back on September 22nd 1938 -- which marked the exact arrival of the Fall Equinox."

According to the Ghost Doctors on the day of the Fall Equinox -- which is actually called the Autumnal Equinox -- the sun passes over the celestial equator shinning on our planet while the earth's axis holds steady neither pointing north or south so the day and night are both 12 hours long. Recorded history has recognized the equinox as the beginning of fall and its harvest season but a mystical side of this event has also been associated with it as well. For many cultures the coming of the equinox had a powerful magical side. And nowadays some modern day ghost hunters feel this is an ideal time to seek out paranormal activity.

"Some people in the paranormal community feel that the equinox brings out the ghostly spirits and the Westinghouse time capsules buried in the old World's Fair grounds in Flushing Meadows should be a really cool location for a little ghostly activity due to their historical significance," says Dr. Pete. "The capsules are buried over 50 feet beneath the earth and contain a variety of objects that depicted life during those times."

According to the Ghost Doctors, the time capsules contained everything from a Mickey Mouse watch to a Beatles record and both capsules are destined to be unearthed 5000 years from now.

In fact the Ghost Doctors accompanied by groups of amateur ghost hunters have investigated a variety of historic locations in the old World's Fair grounds including the area of the time capsules and have found signs of paranormal activity. And with the coming of this years Fall Equinox the Ghost Doctors will schedule a number of ghost hunts in an effort to unearth the secrets of Flushing Meadows.
