Abu Dhabi, UAE -- (SBWire) -- 08/31/2018 --Everyone knows "La dolce vita" of Montecarlo with its unbridled luxury and its natural beauties, but how many people know what lies behind the luxury and entertainment of VIPs in Abu Dhabi? The sweet life of the capital of the UAE touches the peak of its legendary Grand Prix weekend, when hordes of millionaires, actors and models invade the city's marina to attend events and exclusive parties in local and mega yachts.
The Grand Prix circuit, the only one dedicated to a city and not to a nation (and this already speaks volumes), is located on the artificial island of Yas Marina, just a few steps from wonderful theme parks and luxury hotels. and the weekend of the GP at Yas Island can be compared, without doubts, to a "Monte Carlo d'Oriente".
But how do you live the Grand Prix weekend at Yas Island?
We ask Giovanni Sorrentino (www.sultanofwind.com), an Italian yacht designer and luxury operator who has lived and worked in the United Arab Emirates for years, in contact with millionaires and VIPs around the world.
"It's true, everyone eagerly awaits the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 weekend here in the United Arab Emirates, which is now an obligatory stop for all" those who count "Sorrentino tells us.
"The arrivals and the participation of VIPs at the Grand Prix is well organized by specialized companies, with packages according to the possibilities of the visitors. And it's useless to hide that what everyone is expecting are the exclusive boat parties on Yas Island, where they socialize with important people from all over the world ".
"The marina faces directly on the circuit and it is very difficult to recover berths during those days. Every year I myself personally organize these events, and with my partners we have 2 or 3 of the best navy positions, where we moor yachts and megayachts. Naturally, given the importance of our guests, we can not be less than perfect, from the private plane with which our guests arrive in the Arab Emirates to luxury cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini and Limousine waiting for them at the airport, while a yacht remains parked in the marina for the Formula 1 show and the party. During the day the guests, as well as entertaining themselves in 5-star hotels and award-winning luxury restaurants, participate in different activities according to their tastes: usually the women are accompanied to go shopping in the best boutiques of Dubai, while the men they delight in a fishing trip or with water sports "Sorrentino continues.
Q: How much is all this?
A: The costs obviously vary depending on the services, we operate only for a range of high customers, including actors, show business figures, footballers, boxers, and CEO of large companies. The basic package starts at € 50,000 and up but there are people who buy their boat exclusively for the Grand Prix and then keep it here in the Emirates for their holidays. In this case we are talking about the most customized boats made in 'Italian Design' style in a single model and built here in the United Arab Emirates by Riviera Boat.
Q: Who would you like to meet at this Grand Prix?
A: I would love to host Kim Kardashian in one of our boats.
Q: What was the strangest request received for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?
A: Two years ago he was a guest at the Grand Prix Rihanna, and one of our clients whose name I can not name for privacy, he booked a 160-foot boat complete with crew, set up for a mega party with rivers of champagne for a shopping spree total of around 800 thousand euros. "I do not mind shopping at Rihanna," he told us. In the end, however, the boat, fully paid, ready for one of the most exclusive party of the GP, remained empty, without guests.
Giovanni Sorrentino is one of those Italians who has made success abroad, lives and works in the United Arab Emirates and is famous among the VIPs for his work as a yacht designer and for the organization of luxury events.
