Toronto, ON -- (SBWire) -- 06/16/2014 --A Toronto entrepreneur, Ashraf Amin, has dedicated himself to helping 'change the story' in the city he loves, and turn Toronto's attention to one of the world's important issues, access to safe drinking water. The poor management of the global water supply keeps one billion around the world from accessing reliable and safe drinking water. This, and the mood his home city, led Amin to found the "Change The Story" campaign to raise awareness and funds for the organization Charity: Water, and to demonstrate that the people of Toronto can be energized by real and important global issues. Amin hopes they will turn their attention away from what Amin says are, "sensational stories about crack smoking mayors."
Plagued by sensational stories about the city's troubled mayor, Toronto's reputation as a vibrant and cutting-edge city has received a black-eye now that it has become one more city associated with a sensational political scandal. Ashraf Amin wants to prove that Toronto is the home of enlightened and responsible citizens.
Ashraf and his wife Christina Amin will personally match every dollar donated through the Change The Story campaign up to a maximum of $5,000, and hope others will follow suit.
Over 1 billion people daily are not provided access to clean drinking water on a global scale. “When every single day 5000 kids aren’t saved from water related illness by the time they reach their 5th birthday, those kids aren’t just some sad mortality rate anymore” stated Mr Ashraf Amin, Conquest Distributors / New World 2000 Reality.
Amin has made the Greater Toronto Area his home for thirty years. The young entrepreneur sees himself as part of the diverse, compassionate, informed and progressive culture which has been the hallmark of Toronto's reputation. That's why he has taken it upon himself to found, support and promote "Change The Story", and to support Charity: Water, a global organization that is working hard to provide simple solutions to the problem of water availability.
Charity Water uses 100% of it donations to build clean water resources in developing countries. All administrative expenses are supported by a separate network of donors.
