Manchester, England -- (SBWire) -- 12/24/2015 --Martin was finding retirement unsatisfactory without the mental stimulus, purpose or sense of achievement that a job provides. He missed the excitement of having to hit deadlines and produce professional work. Then he came across The Writers Bureau's Creative Writing Course.
"The Writers Bureau course challenged me and was a great help with so much practical common sense based on sound experience," says Martin.
He has now been published in many different papers and magazines and is producing around 250 articles a year. The principal outlet for his work commissions him to write news stories and business advertorials.
Recently he interviewed the CEO of a major professional sports club, the local Head of Leisure and the Town Centre Manager. Plus, he had a front page spread after meeting Brian Blessed and Virginia McKenna whilst covering a major charity auction. He's just finished a book review after meeting a local author and he's completed some profiles on sporting personalities. And, for bread and butter he reports on a variety of sports each week!
"It's going a bit too well at times!" Martin laughs, "Seriously, it's very satisfying, stimulating and great fun – and thanks again to The Writers Bureau for launching me on a second career. I meet so many interesting people and count myself mighty lucky."
Susie Busby, Principal of the Writers Bureau comments, "We're delighted for Martin. He has worked hard and deserves his success. It just shows how far you can go with determination, perseverance and proper training.
"What's also great for Martin is that he has control over how much work he does. If he wants a break then he can take it. That's the flexibility freelancing can give you. And, Martin has proved that it's never too late to start a new career.
