The QUV test quickly reproduces the damaging effects of harsh weather conditions, yet — at the end of the testing process — a sample of aquaBRIGHT™ looked just as colorful and glossy as a control sample that was kept in darkness.
QUV testing causes the same damaging effects as UV sunlight and moisture in a laboratory setting. The high-intensity QUV chamber can cause damage that would normally occur over several years in just days or weeks. This technology is the world's most widely used weathering tester. It is considered an accurate method of predicting polymer coating performance in outdoor conditions.
ecoFINISH® placed a sample of aquaBRIGHT™ in the QUV testing chamber, where it was bombarded with elevated temperatures, sunlight spectrum UV light, and alternating wet and dry cycles. The sample was exposed to 3,000 hours of QUV testing.
An identical sample of aquaBRIGHT™ was kept in a dark space for the same period. When compared, the two samples looked the same, proving that aquaBRIGHT™ is highly weather-resistant.
