Dickey’s Barbecue restaurants across the country will be changing their décor to reflect a new brand strategy created by CEO Roland Dickey Jr. and his team to create an enhanced guest experience.
Dallas, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/09/2015 -- Dallas, Texas is currently home to a new 'concept store' that has seen the transformation of an ordinary Dickey's Barbecue into a modern rustic yet technology-driven restaurant, with an impressive aesthetic providing a classic backdrop against which to enjoy authentic, slow-smoked barbecue, paying homage to 74 years in business. CEO Roland Dickey Jr. is looking to extend the concept nationwide with all future locations.
The new design and décor decreases square footage and improves efficiencies, with the location better able to serve more customers. The redesign has been developed to offer a holistic sensory experience, using sustainably-sourced reclaimed wood hand-crafted into the design elements.
The history of Dickey's is now on the walls, with Bose surround sound pumping the best hits from Texas singer- songwriters. The kitchen features an open plan so guests can see what goes into the preparation of their meals and witness on-site pit smokers behind the block, with a glass butcher case to display the fresh meats.
The new design is super efficient, independent and sustainable. Owner / Operator feedback was used to create a new footprint that requires just 1,500 sq. ft. without losing a single seat from the original 2,000 sq. ft. requirement. What's more, the barbecue pit will run on new proprietary Dickey's hickory wood pellets, eliminating the need for gas or wood logs.
Roland Dickey, Jr. CEO of Dickey's Barbecue Restaurants, Inc. explained, "From the front to back-of-house we've made the entire model more efficient while reinvigorating the guest experience with a trendy, high energy environment. We are barbecue artisans, and it was time to create a more modern take on the traditional Dickey's experience – it was the natural evolution of the brand. Guests will also have access to free Wi-Fi and electrical outlets at our dining tables. This pilot scheme is proving extremely positive, and the future looks bright for a national roll out early next year."
