Cigar Inspector Publishes New Infographic of Their Readers' Favorite Cigars, with Surprising Results

CigarInspector.com has conducted a huge survey of its readership to discover the best rated brands of cigars by aficionados, and has published the results in an infographic on their website.

Verbier, VA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/27/2015 -- Smoking is now in decline around the world, as high taxation, health campaigns and electronic alternatives become more and more commonplace. As cigarettes die out however, cigars are going from strength to strength, supported by a growing online network of enthusiasts sharing recommendations and experiences. Cigar Inspector is a hub of likeminded and experienced cigar smokers, and they have now conducted a survey to discover the favorite brands of cigars from across their readership. The results have just been published in an infographic.

The results are split into two sections: brands and cigars. The brand poll results are surprising, with Cohiba the winner by a comfortable margin, and premium brand Romeo y Julieta ranking eighth.

However, in the poll of favorite cigars, underdogs Ramon Allones Specially Selected and Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2 surprised analysts and both ranked in the top five, hot on the heels of the Cohiba Robusto.

While Cohiba may be the overall favorite brand, and their Robusto the third favorite cigar, the Montecristo no.2 was the number one in the list of favorite Cuban cigars.

The study was conducted in November 2015 using a sample size of more than 400 regular cigar smokers, making the results real and significant. The infographic is as useful to the industry as it is to smokers, who can now find recommendations from it.

A spokesperson for Cigar Inspector explained, "Cigar smoking is becoming more popular as people look to eschew quantity in favor on quality. The cigar experience is one with many layers to it, which is why it can be explored in such detail, and why surveys like these can throw up surprising results. As cigars become more popular, enthusiasts help lead the way for newcomers, and this infographic will help people see at a glance what the best rated brands and cigars are, while our reviews of Cuban cigars give a more in depth analysis."
