Changes in 2011-2012 Medicare Enrollment Period Leaves Many Seniors Confused
Medicare was created in 1965 as a Federal program administered by the United States government to help provide medical coverage for people 65 years of age and older who meet certain criteria. Other select groups are also eligible for Medicare; for example, people younger than 65 who have received Social Security benefits for at least two years, and those on dialysis for end stage renal disease.
