Spirits in Venezuela: New Research Report Available at Fast Market Research
Spirits total volume sales fell by 5% in 2013 (vs. review period CAGR of<1%). Despite the economic downturn, Venezuelans have not stopped consuming spirits. However, demand has shifted between price segments and product areas. The shift toward domestic spirits such as rum increased over the review period. On the other hand, scarcity hurt the performance of imported drinks, especially within whiskies, where total volume sales fell by 19% due to the difficulties of accessing foreign currency.
