Perna is an experienced professional with a passion for continuous improvement and process optimization. His areas of subject matter expertise include: visual management, working capital reduction, flow optimization, supply chain sourcing, problem solving, policy deployment and risk analysis. He is a Six Sigma Black Belt and an established lean practitioner with nearly 20 years of progressive leadership experience in engineering, project management, and product and process improvement.

Throughout his career, Perna has worked with organizations to implement continuous improvement in the manufacturing sector at Assa Abloy, Parker Hannifin, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Most recently, he drove the global expansion of product and process improvement throughout Assa Abloy Entrance Systems’ global operations with responsibility for lean training and certification for manufacturing plants in Europe, China and the United States. He was responsible for the relocation and set-up of products to new facilities, sourcing expansion into low cost regions, and for optimizing and validating a global supply chain footprint.

Perna’s education credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts and a Masters in Manufacturing Management from the University of Southern Maine. Perna continues to broaden his education and experience through advanced Lean, Six Sigma, and technical certifications.

Attendees will learn key concepts with inventory levels predictability, visibilit importance to inventory management, the need for strategic inventory, and a method to achieve predictable inventory levels that are greatly reduced compared to traditional MRP and forecast models.
