New York, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/21/2015 -- Attorneys Peter Eliopoulos and Mark S. Gray teamed with Kevin Hembrick to mastermind a scam. They filed a phony Last Will and Testament wherein they alleged that Jacqueline Hembrick was the true heir to the estate belonging to Helen Gomillion. As per the documents released by the court, Kevin Hembrick was acting as the executor of the estate in a fraudulent manner.
When the neighbors were contacted, they stated that Jacqueline Hembrick never actually lived at the property. She had always lived in a nursing home where she cared for the aged in Philadelphia. Kevin Hembrick, on the other hand is actually a squatter who broke into this property when it was vacant during last August.
From the news that was later released, it was found that both the fraudulent attorneys were paying Kevin Hembrick for living in the property. It was a part of their master plan as they wanted to transfer the deed to them. The trio was caught when they served court papers on a wrong address. The address actually belonged to Mr. Yisrael.
Even when the fraudsters were exposed, they were not willing to accept their mistake. They tried to argue their point further. It later came to light that both attorneys have been involved in various such cases beforehand. They steal a lot of Harlem brownstones by using the Surrogates Court scam. They mainly make it a point to look out for vacant houses and prey on Jewish families. Some of their main targets are black property owners who do not have much idea about the legal laws and rules.
An elderly resident on Convent Avenue was quoted as saying, "These corrupt lawyers are criminals! They need to be disbarred or put in jail!"
These cases end up revealing how some attorneys have been abusing their power. After further investigations, it was found that Hembrick is actually a drug dealer from Philadelphia. All these things have ended up creating a huge fiasco for the attorneys and they may even be charged with criminal penalties as well.
