With hopes to allow the Capital to maintain access to quality foreign labour, business leaders have recently outlined their vision of a London-only visa.
London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/18/2016 -- New proposals from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry have suggested that going forward companies in London should still be allowed to sponsor skilled and in many cases much needed migrant workers with job offers for visas. London's economic success is heavily dependent on immigrant labour so it is likely that this is something in which the government will consider.
If these London-only visas were to come into place, recipients would be provided with London-specific national insurance numbers that would deter them from working in other regions of the UK. If these people were to lose their jobs, people holding these visas would have a maximum of sixty days to find another one before being deported. In addition to this, the businesses seeking foreign labour would have to be able to prove that they're unable to recruit locally, which is commonly the case for a multitude of reasons.
