HOST Program provides access to all Elementary & Middle School Students, (Grades 3-8), to engage students in Math and Literacy at School & Home
Tampa, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/07/2014 -- Award-winning, educational video-game developer DimensionU, Inc., announced today that all Hillsborough County Public School students in grades 3 through 8, can now access the DimensionU Educational Games software for math and literacy using their district Student ID. The Hillsborough County Public Schools Out-of-School Time, (HOST), Program recently expanded access of DimensionU Games to all Hillsborough County elementary and middle school students and educators as a supplemental digital learning resource for math and literacy classrooms, after school and summer programs as well as an extension for home use.
“The expanded access is timely for Tampa area parents seeking ways to help prevent summer learning loss and keep their children engaged with academics this summer and throughout the school year,” said Debbie Zenk, supervisor of the HOST Program. “Students, who attend the 2014 HOST Summer Program will have an opportunity to participate in the HOST Annual Academic Gaming Competition where HOST sites and students compete virtually across Hillsborough County,” added Zenk. This national competition consists of four weekly preliminary rounds, which can be joined at any time. The top five scorers from each preliminary round will win an Amazon Electronic Gift Card and a spot in the Finals Week. The top three scorers from the Finals Week will get to select a Grand Prize. In addition, a grand prize will be awarded to the highest overall cumulative scorer across the four preliminary weekly rounds. The competition is open to residents from the U.S., Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.
