Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/18/2014 -- Splash Magazine announced today that Edward Bass will release his official Emmy Predictions this week. Bass, whose company, Edward Bass Films, has just opened a new TV division, claims to have an “Everyday American”-eyed view that has allowed him to predict with great accuracy previous years’ winners.
“I have a habit of making the most of my time, and sometimes embarrass my friends by taking ad hoc surveys while standing in line at movie premieres or Trader Joe’s,” Bass shared with a smile. “As much as everyone reveres actors like Kevin Spacey, last year was the year audiences and voters wanted to recognize some of Hollywood’s less lauded talent, like Jeff Daniels and Robin Wright, who have consistently turned in quality performances but have not been awarded the statues in the past. Few people remember that Robin was nominated for a Golden Globe for her role as Jenny in “Forrest Gump”, or that she starred alongside Robin Williams in “Toys”.
This year I will let out of the bag the fact that in spite of “Breaking Bad” airing its last episode over a year ago, everybody wants to see the show, the lead actors, everyone involved with it win the awards, or at least the audience in the Trader Joe’s near the Grove. I have yet to form my final opinion of the Hollywood elite’s wishes, but have a couple of agency meetings coming up before I make my official announcement, or I can also visit the Whole Foods in Studio City.” joked Bass. “I also truly enjoy television and understand the American audience, although I don’t always agree with their taste.”
Bass has been nicknamed the Award Show Nostradamus, correctly picking winners of Golden Globes, Oscars, and Emmys many times over the years against what odd-makers predicted.
